Resharpening
A gear cutting tool is only as accurate as the geometry it's ground to. Resharpening isn't a touch-up — it's precision work that must preserve relief angles, rake, tooth spacing, and flute lead, or the tool will cut an inaccurate gear no matter how sharp it feels.
Our resharpening service:
Preserves original geometry so each tool continues to cut to its rated accuracy class
Removes the minimum material necessary to restore a clean, true edge — maximizing the number of regrinds remaining in the tool's life
Controls grinding heat to prevent burning and micro-cracking of the substrate
Includes full inspection, catching chips, runout, or wear patterns that may point to an upstream process issue

Recoating
When a coated tool is reground, grinding removes the coating along the freshly ground faces — leaving the new edge running on bare substrate, without the wear resistance, heat resistance, and lubricity the coating was chosen to provide. A resharpened-but-uncoated tool can wear noticeably faster than it did when new.
Recoating restores that performance. We apply a fresh coating matched to your workpiece material and cutting conditions, bringing the tool back to — and sometimes beyond — its original capability.

TiN — general-purpose, proven performance
TiCN — increased hardness for abrasive materials
TiAlN — high heat resistance for higher-speed and dry cutting
AlCrN — excellent oxidation resistance for demanding applications
